Walkthrough[]

This is the first of two encounters with the mighty Jabberwock. This Jabberwock, however, has more than jaws that bite and claws that catch.

  • Of course, it does have those claws that bite and they're nasty.
  • It fires an energy beam from its eyes. The beam follows you if you move while this attack is under way.
  • Periodically, pairs of Jabberspawns leap into the fray, be careful not to have one jump on your back, while focusing on the towering beast in front of you.
  • The Jabberwock's fire breath is easy to avoid but does severe and ongoing damage when it strikes. Make extensive use of the Ice Wand's secondary trigger which creates an ice shielding against the fire, purple beam, and Jabberspawn lunges, as this battle is all about survival.

The normally flying Jabberwock stays grounded in this battle. He occasionally leaps to attack, but his wings never come into play. As with the Hatter, the auto-targeting Jacks are your best choice of Toys. Unlike with the Hatter, however, the stunt is much harder to pull off. Circle strafe to attack.

When the Jabberspawns appear, disengage from the Jabberwock and attack the smaller monsters with either Jacks or the Ice Wand. Scoop up their Meta-Essence and return to the Jabberwock. If you can fend off the Jabberwock for a short time, Gryphon will swoop in and tear out the Jabberwock's eye—this is the last piece of the Eyestaff. The severely injured Jabberwock flees.

Grab the eye.
