The Origami Ants are villagers in the Oriental Grove who revere the Caterpillar, along with the Origami Ant Monks. They were terrorized by Samurai Wasps and Daimyo Wasps and were either killed[2] or kept in cages.[3][4] They seem to look up to the Origami Ant Elder and his wisdom.[2]
History[]
Alice: Madness Returns[]
After being enveloped by the smoke of the Hookah, Alice shrunk to the size of the Oriental insects. She first witnessed the destruction the Wasps had caused on the villages on her way to the temple of the Origami Ant Elder. When she arrived at the temple, fallen Origami Ant Monks were either at the temple stairs or in the arms of the Origami Ants who survived the onslaught. The villagers were in awe at the sight of Alice and called her their savior. The Ants told her to go see the Elder as he can help her on her journey to the Peak Temple.[2]
Along the way, Alice saw several Origami Ant Monks being beaten by Samurai Wasps. After taking care of the assailants, an Origami Ant Monk told her that she must ring the bells to open the gate.[5] When Alice met the Ant Elder again, he asked her help to save the Origami Ant Monks that were imprisoned in Ruin. The Ant Monks thanked her for saving them and helped her by summoning a red mushroom. She later saw them again chanting with the Ant Elder about the Caterpillar.[6]
Going further up the mountain, an Origami Ant Monk told Alice about the shadow dragon and that she must follow it. She then came across another village where more Origami Ants and Monks were imprisoned in cages. A villager revealed to her more of the horrible treatment the Wasps did to their corpses. When she saw the Oriental Frog, an Origami Ant Monk told her how to clear the obstruction caused by the Wasps.[3] After the Frog spat out a huge ball that created a hole big enough for Alice to pass through, she was able to discover more Ants and Monks in cages.[4]
