  • The way the History section of Majestic Maze is worded, it sounds like the canonical form of the plot. Do you have a reference anywhere supporting that specific view? Specifically I'm talking about the pressure plate puzzle at the end, of which I know several other solutions:

    • Use the Deadtime Watch to keep the Insane Child on the plate and the gate open (mentioned in the Watch's page)
    • Step on the plate, then use the Watch to keep the gate open
    • Use the Ice Wand to create a wall of ice that holds the plate down
    • Search the maze, find the Insane Child, and lead him back to the plate

But I've never managed to get an enemy to step on the button for me. After reading that here, I tried it, and couldn't get any to chase me in there other than a Boojum, who never pressed the plate down. The nearest I could accomplish (which itself might count as a fifth solution) was to stand on the plate myself, and duck and weave until the Boojum steps between the jaws of the open gate, and then step off the plate (the gates stay open since there's someone in the gap) and immediately through the portal; but I would hardly consider that to be canonical, and it's extremely difficult to pull off!

Unless there's some definite statement about how Alice actually did this, I would be inclined to consider either the Ice Wand technique or retrieving the Insane Child to be the most likely method, with the Watch remaining as an alternate mentioned only in its trivia page.

    Thoughts on that?

    • Sorry for the post edit. Fixed the Insane Child link with a proper one.

Anyway, that bit is based on Prima Games' Majestic Maze walkthrough (there is also a link in MM page for it too) since it is the official game guide for AMA. I understand your point and I don't mind the correction, it is a wiki after all, but no need to be rude about it (at least, that's what it seemed to me). Anywho, I updated the wording to reflect there are other variations to get the Plate to work. Thanks for pointing it out.

    • Apologies, I didn't mean to come across as rude! I'm fascinated by this walkthrough making it sound so easy, when in fact it took me 30-60 minutes of fiddling around to get it to work (seriously, those Heart Guards just *do not* want to follow me there!).

(Also, no probs on editing my post for formatting. Appreciate it.)

So in that walkthrough, there actually is something official. Thanks for the latest edit; that makes it sound less mandatory and more "hey, explore around, find a solution", which fits well with the five distinct ways you can do this :)

Thanks, and apologies again for sounding rude. Wasn't my intention. :)

    • BTW, after posting that question to you, I did actually manage to succeed at it by the "get an enemy to follow you" technique. https://clips.twitch.tv/WealthyEnchantingOwlNotATK So that proves that it really is possible. And, unlike the Ice Wand method, it doesn't require that you have an optional item.

  • Long time no speak! It's been a while since I paid a visit here, so you probably forgotten me. Allow me to reintroduce myself. Name's NinjaSheik. :)

I came here today I wanted to tell you guys about interesting tidbit. I was watching CW's Batwoman last night with my sister, and we recognized that the writers for the show made a reference to Alice: Madness Returns when we were watching the episode! :D The main antagonist of the show, Alice, quotes Cheshire Cat's monologue at of the end of game in one of the scenes in the beginning of the episode. Here is the link as proof, and the quote is said about 2:49 in the episode.

How cool is that a popular show on a popular network referenced the game? :D

      Loading editor
    • Hey! Feel free to add it on Cheshire's Trivia :) That's a pretty awesome find to both of you :D

  • hi there hope youre having a good day!

i recently tried replicating the main page portal slider as seen over here: https://michaels.fandom.com/wiki/Template:MainPage_Contents and it kinda worked but the problem is that when I do click on the images, they direct the link to the other templates. Is there something that I'm missing that I need to do? I know I haven't filled out the other template pages but that shouldn't affect the way the template's click works right?

I also imported the portal stuff into https://michaels.fandom.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Wikia.css and also the javascript slider script over here: https://michaels.fandom.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.js/slider.js

Thank you so much and i hope I can complete this. =)

    • Hey, I added this wiki's Common.js/slider.js in my global.js and it seems to work fine for me. I checked your wiki's ImportJS and it seems you haven't added your slider.js there :P Try adding it there first and if it still doesn't work, I'll take a look again :) Here's this wiki's ImportJS for your reference.

  • So recently I created the German Alice Wiki. And I just wanted to let you guys know about this. It also would be kind of nice if someone could help me with the design of the MainPage, since I'm really not good at creating stuff like this. I forgot to tell you guys sooner about the creation about the wiki and I hope it's not a big deal. And sorry if there are any mistakes in this message, my native language is German, so I guess there is a big chance for some mistakes in my english messages. ^^ Greetings~

    • Hi! Thank you for letting us know. Don't worry, it's not a big deal at all :) I have a page for tracking all possible languages with alice as the subdomain. We just like to be informed because we need to setup an interwiki link so we can include them to all the applicable pages.

For the design, you can head over to our Category:Main page templates, MediaWiki:ImportJS, and MediaWiki:Wikia.css. The images should be around Category:Wiki images iirc. You can also check the other Alice Wikis too! There's really no limit with how you want to set up the main page, you can try looking at other wikias and see which one you can incorporate with your wiki yet still keep the "Alice"-esque theme. :)

        Loading editor
    • Okay, thanks for the whole informations. c: I just hope to get it right, since I never designed a MainPage in my life before. ^^"

  • Hi!

I'm currently editing the MainPage Contents templates on the French Wiki, and I have to replace the words "Characters", "Enemies", "Locations", "Weapons", etc… by their French translations.

Can you tell me which text-shaping you and Ghostdoe used to make the four following images, so I'll be able to rewrite them in French? Thank you!

    Characters
    AMA enemies
    Bosses title
    AMR enemies

    • Hi, Ghost made the rest except the Characters text. I’m not sure what you mean by “text-shaping”. If you mean the font, I used Asrafel. If you mean the tool I used to create the header, it’s Photoshop. (You can use the File history to track down who uploaded the files themselves :) all file pages have this capability)

You may want to try WhatTheFont to track down the font she used for the other headers. I’m afraid I don’t remember anymore if she mentioned it before.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you!

I did see that Ghost made the Enemies and Bosses texts, but as she's inactive, I just wanted to check wether you knew how she did, but it's okay, I can make an approximate copy :)

For the Characters text, well, by "text-shaping" I mean things like the contour color code and gloss level, and all the text settings. But if you don't remember it, it's okay again, I can manage with that!

        Loading editor
    • Ah, sorry no. I’m unaware how she did the layers; however, you may find my consolidated page for some wiki images useful for easy wiki image access. I also believe Ghost made some of her social accounts available on her userpage. You can try contacting her there.

Yeah sorry, I think I still have the .psd file for the header on my laptop afaik but I’m unable to leave work except on weekends. Normally I use 5px for the text glow but I’m unsure if that’s what I did for the header. You don’t have to follow the English Alice Wiki’s design per se. You’re free to add your own flare that you think bears any semblance from the Alice universe, especially on the main page.

    • Yeah, I know I can use my own design, but unfortunately I'm not gifted for making main pages, and I love the concept and design of MainPage Contents!

  • hello i was wondering does this wiki have a offical "community page" (subreddit, discord etc.) if so could you please tell me it and if not i was wondering if i could create one or help? i feel like we should have a group chat where the whole community can talk amongst each other.

      Loading editor
    • Hi, all FANDOM wikis have Special:Chat available on default. It can be easily spotted throughout the wiki. The wiki’s chat is known as Rutledge Asylum and to join, just simply click “Return to Madness”. However, there are usually no other people in there so just head on over at Board:Londerland for active discussions or if you want to start a new one yourself. The board is the designated placed for all Alice-related discussions :)

  • The Streamdress infobox is not linking to the image gallery.

I tried renaming the category from "Steamdress images" to "Steamdress dress images" like the rest, but it doesn't seem to fix it. Please help me~

      Loading editor
    • It's on me ahahah. When I was adding dress infoboxes, the name parameter has "Streamdress". In the infobox itself, I use a switch for the unique dress articles and Steamdress is included in that, so with the extra character in the name it went to default but it's a non-existent cat so it will not show up no matter how many times a new cat is created. I'm amazed no one has noticed for so long o_O

  • Thanks for your help with the wiki work.

I think we should add an Alice: Asylum banner on the front page navigation. However, I think we should directly link it to the Alice: Asylum article, instead of the "Characters/Locations/Weapons/etc" menu.

I also think we should make a new poll about Asylum, but I'm not sure what. Maybe "Will you help donate to help fund Alice: Asylum"?

This. Yes on the banner. Definitely. But I'm not much active on following the updates and I'm not a Patron plus I'm starting work soon so I can't actively look out on good designs. The banner can be on top of the slider and doesn't have to actually replace it cuz the thing is about the released games/shorts as compared to letting more people know about AA via the banner. We should also probably need to have a perma section for signing up to the AA email list or a link to American's Patreon if they're still interested to back him up.

I also think we should make a new poll about Asylum, but I'm not sure what. Maybe "Will you help donate to help fund Alice: Asylum"?

Yes to the poll too. We can maybe ask the community what poll they'd like that's related to AA? We already did a poll that's funding related to AO. I can't think of something rn as well.

        Loading editor
    • Sadly, I don't know how to add it to the portal, so I'll leave it to you. "Template:MainPage_Contents" looks too confusing for me. We just need to let visitors know that AA even exists.

As for the poll, I don't think we have to ask the community since the community of this wiki isn't very active at all. However, I don't think we should make an obvious poll like "Are you excited for Alice: Asylum" since it's an obvious yes. I get that it's hard to think of a poll since AA is just a proposal at the moment. We'll think of something.

What no, it shouldn't be that page. It doesn't need to be touched at all. I think you mean {{Maintop}} and looking at its contents, what I meant by above the slider is above {{MainPage Contents}} because that contains the slider :) Or you can also put it above {{Home-Nav}}, your call.

  • On the category exhibition, Alice's image is of the hobby horse (due to the article being semi-protected).

I am deeply upset and disturbed by this trifling matter, as I do not think it adequately and accurately represents Alice.

How shall we ever fix this disaster?

    • Oh right, forgot cat exhib includes 130px above as first image. Fixed that and adjusted the RHH icon.

  • Hiya, just popping in to tell you something! :) Have you been watching Mr. McGee's streams of "Alice"?

The other day, Mr. McGee was doing a Q&A session about "Alice: Asylum" (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jknH8WjrWFM), and guess what? I was pleasantly surprised when he went on this very wikia to access Dr. Wilson's casebook! :D Well, he tried to access it, anyway. He couldn't load the web page for some reason. Lol! ^_^; Anyway, I think it's really cool that Mr. McGee is aware of the wikia and acknowledges it. When a creator of the work that the wikia is dedicated to is aware of it and actively uses it is an awesome thing, in my opinion! Anyway, yeah, that's all I wanted to say. :)

    • Hey!

I'm still way, wayyyyyyyy behind (got sidetracked by several series ;-;), so I haven't seen the latest streams. But that's pretty amazing! Sad it didn't load though. Thanks for the update :)
