During the end of Madness returns when Alice sees the Hatter on the infernal train, he scolds Alice for her recklessness. During Hatter's talk he tells Alice how her actions have indirectly cause him to suffer, making me think that is more of a meaningful quote than the one currently present.
What's on your mind?

I'd like to propose that White Knight (Through the Looking-Glass) be deleted for the following reasons:
- the White Knight has no other biographic information other than the fact that it was in Through the Looking-Glass since it didn't appear in any of the games, unlike Red Queen and Dodo who also didn't appear explicitly in both games yet has information or, for the Red Queen, has several instances which provides an explanation for her situation
- there are no information found in the other sources (i.e. artbook, American's forum) that says the White Knight was supposed to be in the games or was in the games. Unlike the Dodo where his appearance was explained by Sun GuoLiang in the artbook
TL;DR: He didn't appear in any of the games so it doesn't make any sense that there's an article about him.
Please post your comments/reactions that is beneficial for the discussion in this thread. Thank you!
Just Updated
With literally most of the active contributors in the pt-br version coming from this wiki, I'm making my request here. I'm going to adopt pt-br Alice Wiki to (finally) update the wiki's layout and other various things like templates. The wiki has been dead for a long time, the only bureaucrat and sysop hadn't been on for two years. Layout-wise, the pt-br version is the only wiki left that's still has the old (ancient?) English Alice Wiki layout, and to change that I will need sysop access to edit important pages, such as the MW:Wikia.css and the MW:Common.js, and generally clean up the wiki and update its contents to an extent. Per adoption process, there should be a discussion among the contributors of the pt-br version, if they are fine with the person adopting the wiki to have sysop rights. This thread will be up for a week for the users who have contributed to the pt-br version to provide their input.
- Any potential volunteers who know Portugese-Brazilian and are willing to translate our English pages to pt-br can head over to Ghost's wall for inquiries and such.
- Other available languages for Alice Wiki can be read in Alice Wiki:Alice Wiki in Another Language.
- The discussion in the pt-br wiki can be read here.
With the Lost Soul and the Drowned Captain's crew not formally introduced during the game, I am proposing that the three dead sailors in the crypts in Lost Souls Locker be named (at least) as "Drowned Captain's crew". Originally, the VO file of the crew is named VO_LostSoul.int and the crew of the Drowned Captain have the abilities of the Drowned Sailors (they can throw bombs, burrow underground and suddenly raise up for an uppercut and will go for a ground-punch afterwards).
However, the IGN guide says the Lost Souls are enemies capable of firebomb attack. This part is true, also the fact that when they die, their bodies will float and a ghost will come out of it. This is not apparent in Drowned Sailors and the Sailors also have another attack unlike the Lost Souls, further separating them from each other.
However (again), the term "Lost Soul" was never shown in the game when the enemy made his actual appearance in Naval Disaster, unlike the Drowned Sailor, who was introduced in Lost Souls Locker. Which means that IGN's naming of the enemy is unverified. This would leave the actual Lost Soul enemy to have a Conjecture template, because they were never called as such and the scene name, "Lost Souls Locker" might also be referring to the crew of the Drowned Captain.
A Conjecture template will be used for the Drowned Captain's crew (if the community agrees with the name), because the name isn't found in an official source.
I'm also open for other suggestions! I created this thread so that the Lost Souls page can be expanded and the UC template will finally be removed. There are a lot of pages with the UC template and cleaning them one by one would lessen the numbers. So please reply with your thoughts, reactions, or suggestions to this proposal.
Wiki to be merged with us: http://americanmcgeesalicethemadnessreturns.wikia.com
Does anyone disagree with the merge? That wiki is literally dead... for almost two years... and like the last merge with a different wiki, community consensus is needed. Since all its articles and its contents are taken from this wiki (the dated info from long ago), they would just be taken care of because we have the updated versions.
Please post your responses in this thread so the staff can see it, thank you!
And so I found another dead wiki while searching the net, the wiki can be seen here. If you find any wikis (inactive or not) solely about American McGee's Alice-series, please post it here. Alice Wiki aims to be "an ultimate encyclopedia on Alice", and this wouldn't be possible if there's a bunch of (dead) wikis around about Alice and the materials used in these said wikis are from this Alice Wiki in actuality.
If you find an Alice Wiki in a different language, please post the URLs here and we will try our best to help them.
The other English wikis solely about American McGee's Alice-series, however, will be merged with this one. If they are active, there would be communication with the active editors of the other wiki regarding the possibility of a merge. Like the last wiki merge thread I created, a notice would be put up by a representative for this wiki
Why do I keep finding dead wikis? ;-;
This thread is for reports regarding other existing English wikis about the Alice-series.
I never knew a Russian Alice Wiki existed until I was checking in WAM today. It has some pretty interesting (but doesn't seem to be fully canon?) images like Mock Turtle receiving the "you're dismissed" letter, the letter itself, and probably legit Lizzie, although unfortunately, I have no idea how to read Russian and Google translate seems to hate me because it wouldn't translate the whole actual pages.
That aside, if you guys find an Alice Wiki in another language, please don't hesitate and inform any of the active admins so that we can add them in the main page. Thanks!
Hysteria31 brought up the idea of creating transcripts and had already started creating them in her blog post. While it is an interesting idea, I would like to ask if you guys would like another namespace for the transcripts (e.g. Transcript:Hatter's Domain) or have it created as a mainspace article (e.g. Hatter's Domain transcript). The difference between the two is that the transcript namespace would just list all transcript pages while an article created in the mainspace would be mixed with the article pages like Alice Liddell, Queen of Hearts, etc. when an advanced search is used.
Following the creation of transcripts, the quotes page would have to be removed since most of the lines of each character would be present in the transcript. And there is also the problem with which lines of the character would actually be considered as a quote. The quote articles originally existed to have it separated from its main article in the event that the quotes would increase and clutters the page.
Please give your opinions, thanks!
Does anyone have access to previous version (probably BETA) of AMR that probably contained extra infos in Extra Content? MeltingMan234 created a Samurai Wasp Shield Ranged but from the image it's just a regular Samurai Wasp. There's also the Ruin Generator that was added before, although I removed it since it's not in the current version (or at least the version I have) of the Extra Content.
Any thoughts for what the background, search bar, and Wikia bar, should be? We could also add another Alice image for the main page.
As we have no general limit for the removal of user rights due to inactivity, I would like to propose the one year limit for admins and crats. This limit means that if you have not edited in this wiki for a year, as well as haven't come back to Wikia within this time frame, your user right would be removed. You would still be contacted before the year is up if you wish to keep your rights.
This would have to strictly apply for crats as per our founder's very long inactivity (six years) and Zombie's two year absence as well. If Blugo and I hadn't persuaded Alex to adopt this wiki, there would be no crat to facilitate crat-related wiki management.
Following this, I had initially set the user inactivity to two months so an inactive user tag would appear in a user's profile if the user has not contributed for two months. Is there any opposition for this length? Suggestions are also welcome!
I also created this thread as consensus is again required due to the request I made for Gvirus and Zombie's user right removal. Their bureaucrat status would be removed. If anyone (Alex or Lisa if you are reading this :P) has a sure way of talking to Zombie if he still wishes to be a crat, please do so. Wiki email is not too reliable since the email given may not be always checked as it is not the user's main email.
GVirus's admin status would also be removed. If Zombie can't be contacted, his admin status would be removed as well. Although, this would be handled by our crat Alex.
Tl;dr: Wikia staff are the only ones able to remove crat rights. Would there be any disagreement with removing GVirus and Zombie's bureaucrat rights? Consensus is required.
In line with AO's successful funding and expansion of some pages, I propose adding icons for various pages. There are separate icons for dresses, voice actors, personnel, real-world pages, and two of the three series itself. Additionally, protected pages and walkthroughs would receive icons as well.
The icons are placed on the line under the title of the article. The process itself is not tedious, only the addition of the icons used must be done and an update on a template page which lists all the icons is needed.
Thoughts, violent reactions, and etc.?
After cleaning up the blog posts, I noticed this particular blog. Apparently, it's another AMR wiki, but has been dead since May 2011. I contacted Wikia about the merge, and got a reply that a merge would be possible if both communities agree.
I requested the URL be renamed if the merge would be agreed upon... well, renamed to at least the proper spelling as alicemadnessreturns.wikia.com is already one of our domains.
Does anyone disagree to the merge? Most of the contributors in the other wiki are inactive, which means in a week, after a notice has been given, the merge will push through if a consensus is agreed upon.
The existing articles in that wiki will be handled properly as well, since this wiki has the more updated info.
Anyone know which 2d cinematic is the image from? There shouldn't be a watermark in an image, so I'll be replacing this. With a non-watermarked version.
Currently, Category:Browse is this wiki's top-level category. I propose that we rename it to Category:Index. This is also due to avoiding confusing terms.
I just found out today that this cat is the "grandfather" category, and I have been looking for it since some categories belong to this grandfather category. But I was unable to do so due to the misleading meaning of "Browse."
Any thoughts about this?
To avoid spamming both WikiActivity and RecentChanges, I would like to ask a bot flag for my bot User:LiaBot. Having a bot flag would mean I wouldn't have to flood the pages with repetitive edits such as renaming images and categories. In RecentChanges, to view the edits my bot has done, there is a "Show bots"
text beside Hide minor edits
. Clicking Show
would reveal all edits done by bots.
More info about bots can be found here. A community consensus is needed :)
Alright, so I wanted to ask everyone's opinion about the importance of uploading images solely for user pages. As I have seen most of them are either not about the wiki at all or some just uploaded and immediately abandoned (See Special:UnusedFiles, not including images for wiki use). There are also uploaded images that are similar to the images used in articles but with terrible quality.
I brought this up to include in the Manual of Style regarding the uploading of images. Other than uploading images solely for article use, some of the things I had in mind are:
- a specific size for usual landscape-style images
- image name and format
For the landscape-style images like screenshots, they can either be 444x250px or 333x250px. File format should be .png always since it's the best file format in terms of quality and each image should be properly named.
Rather than for example, AMR 10-21-13 or some other file name that doesn't distinguish one file from the other, I propose that we name the images according to what it is about.
For example, the image is about Mad Hatter's body getting assembled, the file name would literally be Mad Hatter's body getting assembled. It can be a phrase or anything else, as long as it describes the image itself.
That's about it, I suppose. Anyone can bring up another idea. Everyone's reactions, questions, thoughts, and suggestions are welcome.
Could any admins available add a show/hide and purge script in MediaWiki:Common.js
importArticles({ type: "script", articles: [ "w:dev:ShowHide/code.js", /* Collapsible elements and tables */ "w:dev:PurgeButton/code.js", /* Add "purge" option to page controls */ ] });
And roundy page element in MediaWiki:Wikia.css
.roundy {border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; -khtml-border-radius:10px; -icab-border-radius:10px; -o-border-radius:10px}
Since some enemy/creature pages haven't been created and some existing only has a small content, wouldn't it be better if there's a page solely about all the enemies?
Those pages with a lot of content doesn't need to be deleted, just a brief intro about them and a link. (i.e., Main article: Jabberwock)
This is also to remove the images of some inhabitants found in a particular location (i.e., Mocksparrow image in Vale of Tears)
Thoughts?
