Alice is a collective term that refers to all three series created by American McGee: American McGee's Alice, Alice: Madness Returns, and Alice: Otherlands. It centers the life of Alice Liddell who became the sole survivor of the Liddell incident at the mere age of seven. The incident occurred on 5 November 1863 and left Alice with severe burns and mental trauma causing her to be institutionalized at Rutledge Asylum for the most part of her life. The events of the fire were set after Lewis Caroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. Majority of the Alice-series are mainly about Alice's struggles to regain her sanity and remember her memories of the night of the fire.
