The killer would be the Mad Hatter and the survivor would be Alice Liddell. The map could be a Ruin-infested Wonderland or the asylum where Alice was for most of her life.
Just Updated
Sorry if this isn’t the appropriate board, but what do you think it would be like if Alice becomes the 4th dlc fighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate what would her reveal trailer be like along with her moveset, her title in boxing ring, her stage, spirits, and classic mode with the final boss of her classic mode?
Hi. I'm trying to run this game on a Windows XP virtual machine (host machine Windows 10), and I've come across this problem.
Initializing OpenGL subsystem
...initializing QGL
...calling LoadLibrary( 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\opengl32.dll' ): succeeded
...setting mode 3: 640 480 FS
...using colorsbits of 16
...calling CDS: ok
...registered window class
...created window@0,0 (640x480)
Initializing OpenGL driver
...getting DC: succeeded
...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 )
...0 PFDs found
...MCD acceleration found
...PIXELFORMAT 1 selected
...creating GL context: failed
...restoring display settings
...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3)
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver
...initializing QGL
...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available
...shutting down QGL
----- CL_Shutdown -----

GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem
I've searched online, and the problem seems to lie in trying to run old software on new hardware. It can't be that my graphics components are out of date, and the host machine is a Windows 10 with hella good parts, so this must be the answer. It's kind of weird, because I've never had a problem like this with other games I've run on the virtual machine, just this one.
Sadly, I haven't gotten any real answers on how to fix this and all the threads I've come across are 6+ years old. Does anyone here have a fix for this that can be explained in simple terms?

I have a bug in my game in ps3. I reached the underwater level, but I didn't win the Siren Dress! I bought the DLC Pack, after I reached this level! I think the DLC is the problem! Please, help!
During the end of Madness returns when Alice sees the Hatter on the infernal train, he scolds Alice for her recklessness. During Hatter's talk he tells Alice how her actions have indirectly cause him to suffer, making me think that is more of a meaningful quote than the one currently present.
Do you guys remember what Alice said about her birthday in the novel? Was it March 4th? I may be wrong.
I was wondering if all the real world characters in AMR and even in AMA if there are any have Wonderland counterparts.
I know that Dr Bumby is the Dollmaker, and the Insane Children are the Orphans.
The White King might be the equivalent of Alice's father, as she says in the Extra Content that the White King reminds her of him.
The Caterpillar might be Radcliffe.
I was also thinking that the Carpenter might be the counterpart to Jack Splatter, as they look alike and they both appear in the same chapter of the game. I know it's a stretch, but if he was just based off of the poster of Bruno then Alice imagined up quite the personality for the Carpenter!
I was wondering who could be the counterpart of Nan Sharpe and anyone else. If you agree or disagree or have an idea, please reply! I'd love to discover more about this game.
Hello :) since over 10 years I own American Mcgee's Alice and it worked on any system like Windows Vista & Windows 7. Now I own Windows 10 and my Download stops at 2% (it stopped with windows 7 too, but sometimes it worked) when I try to delete it from my PC, it's not completely gone. When I have luck, it goes to 50% but stops too then. I have the Original 2 CDs and there is nothing wrong with my PC since I own him since 2008 and it worked the whole time (yea, old pc haha but nevermind) When I try to start it after installation, I got an bluescreen. It doesn't install completely but its on my PC...I think.
Hope u guys can help me & sorry for my bad english :(
If you're going to solve the puzzle of what the game is all about, please warn us who haven't finished the game! I'm only part way through it and now i know what she's gonna find, i expect i might read this somewhere page and i'm careful to avoid it, only looking for what i came here for, some aggressive scrolling required for that. I don't expect spoilers right in the first few sentences of the intro!! That's not cool, it's just an intro there's no need to say "she finds out this is who's behind it all" hey c'mon... please change this so no one else has the mystery ruined for them, thanks.
So as you've heard, American McGee has posted Update #56 – which means that the physical rewards for the backers and digital copies for those who weren't able to back the Kickstarter will be released soon! Since the two shorts (and the artbook) will be filled with marvelous scenes (or pages, in the case of the artbook) that would be very useful for the articles, we kindly ask anyone who would be uploading images in this wiki, to please adhere to the image policy and Manual of Style (this includes the source mode editing markup regarding the images).
We will immediately delete bad quality images, or any images that do not follow the image policy and consequently issue an {{Imagedeleted}} message to the uploader of said kinds of images.
Of course, we should also not ignore the other policies of the wiki. Even though wikias are free to edit by unregistered and registered users alike, we still highly value verified information. And we all know what vandalism is and how it looks like, so best not to do it if you can't handle the consequences of your actions.
...And that's about it! Any questions or concerns, please wall any of the active administrators! We may not edit as frequent as before, but rest assured that we do drop by and observe the wiki!
The new game footers are brought to you by Encyclopedia Gamia and our very own Games Hub. The basic goal is simple: draw together Wikia communities in one location that enjoy the same genres and hopefully expose them to some new games and communities they might be interested in. Our secondary goal is to try and connect editors looking for help with members and administrators from other wikias who are interested in helping them out, whether it be with content, technical knowledge, or insight gleaned from running a community.
If you haven't already been approached, feel free to include your site in the submission section below in the genre you feel is most appropriate for the game you cover. Note that, with rare exception, a game should only be placed in one footer.
Here are some other things to consider:
- A member or members of the site should be willing to help those that might ask for assistance in creating their own wikia. Obviously this is at member discretion; members aren't absolutely required to answer every request for help, nor should they if the query is unrealistic and/or no one has the know-how.
- Any site participating in the footer will have a page created on the Games Hub for their franchise for more exposure. Members are encouraged to double-check this entry once it is live and may take ownership of the page.
- Any site participating in the footer will have each individual game in their franchise created on Encyclopedia Gamia for more exposure. Members are encouraged to double-check these entries once they are live and may take ownership of the pages.
- Backgrounds are transparent and links/text are set to match the site's settings.
- The new footers are mobile-friendly.
- Though intended to stretch the entire width of a main page, the footer can also fit into the left rail, if so desired.
In most cases a game can fit into multiple categories, so the best should be chosen when possible that most closely matches the genre. Rogue-like games, for instance, aren't included because many games feature stealth elements. Instead, they can be found within the Action-Adventure footer.
Should the situation arise where another footer is potentially needed, one may be created, but only if 1) the genre can't be included in any other category and 2) there are enough games for the footer.
For footers that were created and maintained by Wikia staff, these will be replaced with the new footers.
Footers created by users will not be touched at this time.
Hey! Sorry for bothering. So, my problem is a glitch that doesn't allow me to continue playing the game. My game is completely original, but still. There's a button to attack, yet when a press it nothing happens. At all. I try keyboard smashing, but still no buttons seem to be the right one for me to attack. Any solutions?
So I've collected all of the bottles in the first chapter (Besides memories. etc)
Some characters opened but none of the troubling visions
What should I do ?
I REALLY love her design. It's so cute, and yet elegant and very fitting to her respective enviroment/s. The different costumes for different chapters is some really fun they added in. Believe it or not, it's one of the few reasons I find Madness Returns to have more replay value.. 8P
I think Mr.McGee did a great job at not making her like the typical female fighter. They're usually dressed showing a lot of skin and "fanservice-y". Alice, on the other hand, managees to be beautiful while staying classy and without showing an inch of skin (unless you count her face/arms...lol). It also helps that her character goes with her physical reprenstation. She has her way with words.
I finshed the game but I wanna replay the chapters, can I replay them without losing my data??
It would have to be someone who
A. Knows where Alice is
B. Is symphetic to her
C. knew her family well enough to have owned a large photograph of them (which would not have been cheap in the Victorian Era) and kept it around for more than ten years, and
D. Had a reason to keep thier identity hidden
The only person in-universe I can think of who even comes close to fitting those characteristics would be Lewis Caroll/Charles Dodgson, but that still leaves the question of why he chose to send the gift anonymously.
